We reported earlier that the City had gone out to bid for the trash and recycling collection contract. On Nov. 19, City Council awarded the bid to Blue Diamond Disposal, saving the City $500,000 over five years.
Blue Diamond will begin Jan. 1.
What do you need to know about the new service?
The collection routes will remain the same, and trash will be collected on the first scheduled day, and recyclables will be collected on the second (See Trash Schedule for collection days for your block.).

New with Blue Diamond is that when the summer schedule is in effect, beginning June 1, both trash and recyclables will be collected on both days, twice a week.
