North Wildwood, NJ – The 15th Annual Mid-Atlantic Police & Fire Survivors Weekend was held on Friday, September 19 – Sunday, September 21, 2014. The weekend focused on public servant survivors from NJ, PA, NY, DE, MD, VA and Washington D.C. The delivery of the ceremonial wreath from Philadelphia to North Wildwood via the Philadelphia Police Boat Team took place on Friday, 5:00 p.m. at the municipal boat ramp, 5th & New York Avenues. On Saturday demonstrations were held by NJ State Police, County K-9 Unit, TEAMS Unit and Local Fire Rescue, followed by a candlelight vigil, 7:00 p.m. at the Lou Boothe Amphitheater at 2nd & Ocean Avenues; and an interment at sea of the ceremonial wreath.

Council President Zampirri said, “He was both moved and inspired by the ceremonies, and he is looking forward to next years Mid Atlantic Police & Fire Survivors Weekend.” The weekend was a successful event that honored the men and women who were killed serving the public, and also recognized their surviving family members.
