On Feb. 24, the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) began upgrading  Route 147 in North Wildwood.

The project involves milling, paving, and striping from MP 3.5 (New York Ave.) to MP 4.17 (Anglesea Dr.) eastbound and westbound. Some curb and sidewalk work along with placing traffic signal cameras will be performed during daylight hours Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with one lane closed.

The paving and striping work will be done at night (7 p.m. to 6 a.m.) starting in April.

The process will necessitate lane closings, but there will always be at least one lane open to traffic each way. At times, side streets may be closed and traffic re-routed, but NJDOT assures us that these inconveniences will be minimal.
