North Wildwood Hosted Annual Polar Plunge on Saturday, February 28, 2015 North Wildwood – The sun was gleaming and the wind was brisk for this year’s Fallen Heroes Polar Plunge in North Wildwood, NJ. Saturday, February 28, 2015, spectators gathered at 15th Avenue & the beach to watch participants take the treacherous leap into the Atlantic once again for this year’s polar plunge. Costumes ranged from the comic book movie favorite Avengers, to the ever so lovable smurfs at this year’s event. This is the 6th Annual Fall Heroes Plunge and we look forward to hosting next year’s plunge in 2016.

A record breaking crowd of 800+ participated in this year’s event. Ocean rescue represented by North Wildwood Beach Patrol was at the scene to assist with any distress in the water. Ambulances were also provided by North Wildwood Fire Department, in the case of a medical emergency.

“Our Recreation and Tourism Department does a wonderful job helping to organize the Fallen Heroes Polar Plunge. Council and I are happy to host this popular event and we couldn’t do it without the help of our hard working City staff and department heads,” said Mayor Patrick Rosenello.
