CITY OF NORTH WILDWOOD WARNS OF
IMPENDING FLOODING ANTICIPATED FOR FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY

North Wildwood – North Wildwood City Officials would like to provide an update on the predicted weather conditions for Friday through Sunday. This weather event is in addition to, and will occur well ahead of, any impact North Wildwood experiences from Hurricane Joaquin.

As of this afternoon, confidence in the forecast of extreme high tides remains strong. Roads have been closed at various locations in the City during high tide today, and tidal flooding during high tide is expected to get worse over the next few days. Residents and property owners who normally experience tidal flooding will likely see the same conditions Friday through Sunday, and as such, are reminded to take the necessary precautions to protect their health and properties. Due to the projected high tide levels, properties that don’t normally experience tidal flooding may experience it this weekend.

“After analyzing the data provided by NOAA and the National Weather Service with other City officials, we now know that this storm is not just a prediction, tidal flooding is imminent,” said Mayor Patrick Rosenello. “We are doing everything we can at this time to keep the residents of our town informed, and prepared for the worst, while hoping for the best,” said Mayor Rosenello.
