(N.J.S.A 54:4-64) Interest will be applied to all late payments. The mailing address for new owners is the address listed on the recorded deed. It is important as a new owner to confirm this information is accurate. Please contact the Tax Collector’s office if you need a copy of your tax bill.

DELINQUENT TAXES, COSTS AND OTHER MUNICIPAL CHARGES ACCELERATED

The City of North Wildwood has an Accelerated Tax Sale each year. Any municipal taxes, sewer and/or miscellaneous charges that remain delinquent as of the 11th day of November will be listed for Tax Sale and subject to additional charges. All payments must be made by cash, money order or certified check. No personal checks or online payments will be accepted after the tax sale process has been initiated.

TAX SALE INFORMATION

The City of North Wildwood holds an Accelerated Tax Sale each year to collect current year delinquent tax and/or sewer. The Tax Sale is held the last week of December. At the tax sale, title to the delinquent property itself is not sold. What is sold is a tax sale certificate, a lien on the property. Taxes continue to accrue on the property after the sale of the certificate. Lienholders have the option to pay the subsequent delinquent tax/sewer balances. If the tax lien certificate remains open after two years, a lien holder can begin proceedings in Superior Court to foreclose on the property. https://www.state.nj.us/dca/divisions/dlgs/programs/tax_collector_docs/elements_of_tax_sales_nj.pdf

LIEN REDEMPTIONS

Lien redemptions must be paid in full. Only cash, money order or certified bank checks will be accepted. Please contact the Tax Collector’s office to obtain redemption amount and instructions. khoward@northwildwood.com
