NOTICE OF DETOUR
NEW JERSEY AVENUE (CR 621) – 5TH STREET TO NEW YORK AVENUE
CITY OF NORTH WILDWOOD
The final paving of New Jersey Avenue (CR 621) in North Wildwood between New York Avenue and 5th Avenue is scheduled to commence on Tuesday April 29th and continue until Thursday May 1st. This marks the final phase of the ongoing road reconstruction project along the corridor from 5th Street to New York Avenue. In addition, the existing parking lot along Old New Jersey Avenue will be resurfaced and the existing access off 2nd Avenue will be realigned for improved safety and circulation.
In order to safely and efficiently execute the paving work, New Jersey Avenue (CR 621) will be closed to thru traffic between New York Avenue and 5th Avenue. Beginning on Tuesday April 29th, motorists heading south along NJ Route 147 will be detoured south onto New York Avenue and shall proceed along New York Avenue to 10th Avenue. At 10th Avenue, motorists will be directed to head east back to New Jersey Avenue. Motorists travelling north along New Jersey Avenue (Cr 621) will be directed west onto 10th Avenue toward New York Avenue. Motorists will then be directed to turn north onto New York Avenue and shall proceed north along New York Avenue to the New Jersey Avenue intersection. There will be a hard closure at both 5th Avenue and New York Avenue preventing thru traffic from entering. Local traffic will always have access thru the work zone and all businesses will remain open. The detour will be in place continuously until the final roadway paving has been completed, which is expected to be by the close of business on Thursday, May 1st.
