The City of North Wildwood, in partnership with Cape May County and its 16 municipalities, stand together urging the State of New Jersey to consider a more thoughtful and incremental approach through the typical State Legislative process to implement the NJDEP’s proposed REAL/NJPACT Rules, rather than adopting through Executive Order. We are requesting a comprehensive and independent analysis of the potential economic and social impacts of NJPACT, along with other requests that may be found in North Wildwood City Council Resolution #212-24.

The proposed rules include higher regulatory building standards that will dramatically increase construction costs for public and private projects, expand flood hazard area impacting development and redevelopment opportunities such as affordable housing, and may result in increases to insurance premiums and decreased property values within those impacted zones.
