Maureen Hennessy Crowned Miss North Wildwood

NORTH WILDWOOD—On July 18 Maureen Hennessy, 17, was crowned Miss North Wildwood 2013 at the Lou Booth Amphitheater, Second and Ocean avenues.

Hennessy is a rising senior at Paul VI High School in Glassboro. She spends her summers in North Wildwood at the family’s home.

Hennessy is interested in Communications and is active at the school newspaper and radio. She’s also a National Honor Society math tutor.

First Runner-up is Elizabeth Mary (E.M.mie) Vogelman, 18, of North Wildwood. She’s a freshman at Kutztown University in Pennsylvania, majoring in Education of the Visually Impaired.

Second Runner-up is Neve Marino, 20. a resident of Wildwood Crest. She’s a member of the Class of 2016 at St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia.

This is the 16th year that North Wildwood has hosted this event. Over the years, 150 girls have participated.  This year there were 10 contestants who competed by way of interviews held at North End American Grill, Olde New Jersey Avenue on Wednesday, July 17.

The announcement of winners was made before the Mainstreet Cruisers concert at Lou Booth Amphitheater.

Mayor Bill Henfey said, “Congratulations to Maureen! I know she will enjoy representing the City all year. And on behalf of the City, I thank Brooke Iacono, for doing a great job as Miss North Wildwood 2012!”
