North Wildwood – The City of North Wildwood has honored the Fourth of July for decades by the commencement of the annual Independence Day Parade. It can be said that throughout the years, the crowds – residents, visitors and vacationers, continuously are gracious and respectful on such an important day of thanks. The day couldn’t have been more spectacular thanks to Rick Haas (Superintendent of Rec), Stephen DeHorsey (Director of Tourism), Joseph Quattrone (Event Coordinator) and North Wildwood Recreation and Tourism staff. This year, the spectators were especially amiable and courteous as they accepted the Girl Scouts patriotic pinwheels while cheering on the parade participants.

Although the holiday began with fears of rainy weather and parade rescheduling, the festivities continued without a hitch! Highlights of the parade included Girl Scout Troop 42540, Miss North Wildwood Maegan Sharkey, and the ever so popular Pooch Parade. Also present in support of our Nation’s independence were the City’s own Recreation, Public Works, Police, and Fire Departments.

North Wildwood Administration sincerely appreciates participants of the parade and the City staff that helped to make it all possible. “It is important to recognize Independence Day as a holiday that not only unites our nation, but towns and cities like our own,” said Mayor Patrick Rosenello.
